The acclaimed German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott shares performance skills and musical insights, gained through his decades of experience.

Whether you are an aspiring musician or simply want to gain a deeper understanding of the music you love, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to learn from one of the world’s best musicians.

Attendees to the masterclass will see and hear Daniel Mϋller-Schott give one-to-one coaching to three aspiring cellists, each having one hour of intensive tuition, starting at 11:00am 12 Noon and 1:00pm. Pianist Magdalene Ho will be the collaborating artist.

Visitors to the masterclass can observe the coaching and learn about techniques, interpretation and storytelling. This event is designed to inspire the next generation of artists.

About Daniel Müller-Schott

Daniel fell in love with classical music aged just five, influenced by his musically gifted mother, who was a harpsichord player and piano teacher. On the day of this special recital, he will spend the morning providing a masterclass for music students, being renowned for encouraging young people to develop their passion for classical music.

He not only performs cello concertos from the Baroque to the modern era but is keen to discover unknown works for the expansion of the cello repertoire through his own arrangements and collaboration with the composers of our time.

George Alexander Albrecht, Sir André Previn and Peter Ruzicka have dedicated cello concertos to him. The award-winning pianist Magdalena Ho will accompany Daniel. Daniel has been involved in the ‘Rhapsody in School’ project for many years and regularly gives master classes worldwide. For Duo Sessions Daniel Müller-Schott and Julia Fischer received the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) 2017.

About Magdalene Ho

At the age of 19, Malaysian pianist Magdalene Ho came to international attention after winning the 2023 Clara Haskil International Piano Competition. Formerly a pupil of Patsy Toh at the Purcell School, she currently studies with Dmitri Alexeev at the Royal College of Music as a Dasha Shenkman Scholar. She is also sponsored by the Weir Award via the Keyboard Charitable Trust.

Magdalene Ho’s 2025/26 season highlights are: a recital debut at the Tonhalle Zürich, orchestral debuts with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under Thomas Søndergård and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra under Kornilios Michailidis as well as a concert tour in the USA and performances at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Rheingau Festival, the Schumannfest Düsseldorf, the Lille Piano(s) Festival, and the SWR Kultur Internationale Pianisten series in Mainz.
