Sinfonia Smith Square is delighted to announce the appointment of Duncan Wilson CBE as a new Trustee, joining the Board at a pivotal moment in the organisation’s development.

Duncan brings a distinguished track record in leadership, governance, and cultural advocacy. He was, until recently, the Chief Executive of Historic England, a post he held from its inception in 2015 until his retirement in October 2025, establishing the organisation’s identity and strengthening its role as a leading champion and protector of the historic environment.

Duncan has a background in archaeology, is a qualified chartered accountant, and has a lifelong passion for classical singing.

His appointment comes as Sinfonia Smith Square embarks on Doors Open, our major capital refurbishment project to secure the future of Smith Square Hall and open it up to more people than ever before.
