Biography
I first started learning the flute when I was ten and I still remember how quickly it became part of who I was. At first, I was drawn to its sound: bright, expressive and full of colour. But the more I played, the more I realised that music could become a language of its own, a way of telling stories, sharing emotion and connecting with people beyond words.
I grew up in Bucharest, where music became the centre of my life from an early age. I spent much of my childhood practising, performing and taking part in competitions, experiences that taught me discipline, resilience and the joy of working towards something I deeply loved. Winning prizes at national and international competitions gave me confidence, but more importantly, they helped me believe that my dream of studying abroad might one day become possible.
Moving to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music was one of the most important moments of my life. It had been a dream for many years, and being surrounded by inspiring teachers, colleagues and musicians helped me grow in ways I could never have imagined. During my time there, I developed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, and had the chance to learn from artists whose playing and teaching have shaped the musician I am becoming.
My musical life now brings together solo performance, chamber music, orchestral playing and education. I have appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, Pitești Symphony Orchestra and Dorset County Orchestra, and my orchestral experience includes principal, second flute and piccolo roles with the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, Royal Academy of Music Chamber Orchestra, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and Odyssey Festival Orchestra. Chamber music is especially close to my heart because of the trust, imagination and shared breathing it requires. I perform chamber music in a variety of settings, including flute and harp repertoire with Etérea Duo in London and Bucharest, flute and strings projects with Allegria Ensemble, two-flute-and-piano programmes with Aeris Trio, and other collaborations that explore the expressive possibilities of the flute.
From October 2026, I will join the Sinfonia Smith Square Fellowship Orchestra, marking a meaningful new chapter in my journey. I am excited to grow as an orchestral and chamber musician, and to be part of a community shaped by curiosity, collaboration and artistic development.
Outside music, I find joy in baking, swimming and spending time in nature. These quieter moments help me recharge, reflect and return to music with fresh energy and imagination.
