Biography

Born and raised in Italy, my musical journey began at the Scuola Comunale di Musica “G. Verdi” where I first took up the bassoon under Dante Vicari. Seeking new musical horizons, I made the life-changing move to the UK in 2015 and started attending the Junior Royal Academy of Music as a pupil of Joanna Stark. Moving to London was incredibly inspiring for me; I simply could not get enough of the world-class music-making happening all around the city. Witnessing that exceptional standard first-hand made me absolutely certain that I wanted to dedicate myself to becoming part of that exciting world.

This drive led me to the Royal College of Music, where I spent four incredible years under Andrea de Flammineis and Sarah Burnett. Graduating in 2023 as a Big Give Scholar, my time at the RCM allowed me to grow immensely across solo, chamber, and orchestral settings, highlighted by performing in the RCM Symphony Orchestra under legendary conductors like Antonio Pappano, Sakari Oramo, and Rafael Payare. Following the RCM, I continued my journey at the Royal Academy of Music, completing my Master’s degree as an ABRSM Scholar, studying with Robin O’Neill and Meyrick Alexander. While at the RAM, I co-founded the Regent’s Wind Quintet, an ensemble that allowed me to truly focus on the nuances of chamber music.

My musical career has always been tied to a love for exploring new cultures. My tours with the YMEO (Young Musicians European Orchestra) orchestra through Albania, Vietnam, and Lebanon perfectly merged my two greatest passions: travelling and making music. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate with musicians from other countries and see how we each bring a unique approach to our shared art form, which I found deeply inspiring. Since graduating, I have taken exciting steps into the professional world, freelancing with major London orchestras, including the unforgettable experience of playing for the Royal Opera House in Wayne McGregor’s acclaimed ballet production, Alchemies.

Discovering the power of chamber music through the Regent’s Wind Quintet heavily shaped my perspective on performing. I found that the intimate approach inherent in a small ensemble offers the best way to communicate directly with an audience. This connects beautifully with my deep passion for teaching and vocational work. School outreach is particularly close to my heart; using that intimate chamber setting to step into the community, give something back, and inspire children is incredibly rewarding.

When I am not holding a bassoon, I of course love to cook – as an Italian, my passion for food runs deep! In my downtime, you can usually find me lost in a great historical fiction novel or hunting down a good deal on some unique antiques.
