Celebrate the season with The Tallis Scholars in a luminous programme of sacred music spanning five centuries.

The theme behind this seasonal programme is the Virgin Mary, whether celebrating her own divinity (in the Votive Mass written by Byrd), or in the context of the birth of Christ (in Tallis’ epic Missa Puer natus).

The choice of music is taken exclusively from the English repertoire, featuring not only renaissance masterpieces but also two of the twentieth century’s most beautiful a cappella choral works – Hymn to the Virgin by Benjamin Britten and A spotless rose by Herbert Howells.
