Ruby Gascoyne
Ruby Gascoyne is an actor-musician from London. She originally trained in musical theatre and dance at The BRIT School but jazz singing has always been a part of her life. Growing up with two jazz musician parents, the genre has always felt familiar to her.
Ruby made her debut on the jazz scene in 2021 as a featured singer in her mother, Trudy Kerr’s show, “Celebrating the Music of Doris Day.”
She subsequently performed at the London Jazz Festival alongside Liane Carroll and the Darius Brubeck Quartet. Additionally, she regularly performs in her family’s show, celebrating the music of Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli.
Ruby is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing bass, saxophone, drums, guitar, and piano. She is currently in her final year of drama school training at the renowned Mountview Academy, where she is enrolled in the Actor Musician course.
Edgar Ho
Edgar Ho is a rising star in the London jazz scene, known for his dynamic piano performances that stem from the bebop tradition.
Originally from Newcastle, Edgar honed his skills at the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester before immersing himself in London’s vibrant jazz scene. Now based in the UK capital, he is currently pursuing a BMus in Jazz at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama, further refining his craft and expanding his musical horizons.
Edgar’s talent has taken him beyond the borders of the UK, with international performances in Hong Kong and Japan. In London, he plays regularly in jazz clubs, where he showcases his versatility as both a bandleader and a sideman.
Oscar Ho
Oscar Ho is a jazz bassist currently based in London. His musical journey began at the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music, where he earned the “Ida Carroll Scholarship” and studied jazz and classical double bass under the mentorship of Steve Berry and Rachel Meerloo.
Since moving to London, Oscar has established himself as one of the top players, having performed at venues such as the Vortex and Ronnie Scott’s. While studying in London, he has worked with the likes of Norma Winstone and Scott Stroman, and studied under Steve Watts, Tom Farmer, and James Maddren.
Manel Filgueiras
Manel Filgueiras is a drummer and recent graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
A Portuguese native, he initiated his musical studies at the age of 11 later enrolling in ArtJ – School of Performing Arts, highly regarded as one of the leading schools for the arts in the country.
Over the years Manuel as gathered experience in a vast array of musical genres such as Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, Rock, Brazilian and Latin Music, having performed all over London as well as Portugal and Spain.
He has participated in various records from as a young age as 21. Manuel also writes and teaches, having been a drum instructor since the age of 18.
