Late-night live jazz in Smith Square’s candlelit crypt.
Named after a nomadic long-haired black cat, Krówki [KROOF-kee] (trans. “little cows”) is a new group made up of Lydia Cochrane, (tenor sax, fiddle, voice, shruti box), Macy Wright (upright bass), and Sacha Bistany (guitar).
With influences across British, Irish, and Polish folk music, and inspired by artists such as Fergus McCreadie, Mike McGoldrick, Sam Amidon, and Warsaw Village Band, Krówki traces a dynamic and energetic line through traditional folk tunes, jazz, and improvisational music.
