The gods meet their tragic end in the dramatic final opera of Wagner's Ring Cycle.
The critically acclaimed London Opera Company make their much-anticipated return to Smith Square Hall with a semi-staged and fully orchestrated production of Gotterdämmerung, Wagner’s devastating Ring Cycle finale in which the gods finally meet their end.
Over the past few years the London Opera Company has developed a well-earned reputation for delighting audiences with thrilling performances of Wagner’s repertoire and their autumn fixture at Smith Square Hall has become a red letter day in Wagner lovers’ diaries.
This year fans will not be disappointed as the Company returns to the atmospheric Westminster venue with one of their most ambitious productions yet – Wagner’s gripping denouement to the epic Ring Cycle.
Philippa Boyle, fresh from her Royal Opera House debut, sings Gutrune and Neal Cooper, about to appear with Holland Park Opera, sings Siegfried. They join a cast featuring in-demand and expert Wagnerian singers and a full orchestra which blends professional musicians with graduates from London’s best music colleges, all under the musical direction of Wagner maestro Peter Selwyn. This promises to be an evening to remember.
