THÉODORA is a Paris-based early music ensemble dedicated to exploring the musical ties that connect European cultures, with a particular focus on expatriate composers and the circulation of styles across borders. Since 2023, the ensemble has been in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac.
The ensemble first drew international attention through leading young artist platforms, including the Oude Muziek Festival, the Fabulous Fringe at the MA Brugge Festival, and the Festival Jeunes Talents. Alongside its concert activity, THÉODORA is deeply committed to outreach and transmission. In partnership with Université Paris Cité, the ensemble presents free lunchtime concerts that invite students to discover and engage with Baroque music in an accessible and inspiring setting.
Performing as a duo, trio, or quartet, THÉODORA embraces a flexible formation that allows it to navigate a wide-ranging repertoire. In 2025, the ensemble appeared at the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier with a programme devoted to English music, and presented French Passions, German Passions at both the MA Brugge Festival and the Festival de La Chaise-Dieu. Their programme Genesis, built around Bach’s Chaconne, was performed at the Festival de Sablé and at the Festival Marin Marais.
In early 2026, THÉODORA released their debut album, Tranquilles Coeurs, for Alpha Classics. The recording explores the influence of the French style in Germany at the turn of the 18th century – a theme at the heart of the ensemble’s artistic identity. That same season, they developed a new project devoted to Rameau in collaboration with the Fondation Royaumont, premiered at the Saisons Baroque du Jura.
THÉODORA is the recipient of the Banque de France grant for the 2026–2028 period.
