Biography
Music has always been a big part of my life. I grew up in a musical household, and began my journey at the age of seven with singing lessons, before joining my local church choir in West London. This had a profound effect on me at that age — I loved the experience of being part of an ensemble, all the while listening out for the loud roaring of the organ.
I began learning the recorder and the piano, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed, but my passion still lay with singing in the choir. A core memory from this time was a joint choir concert at St Paul’s Cathedral, where we sang Handel’s Zadok the Priest; listening to the organ thunder away during the introduction solidified one thing in my mind — I would like to do that one day.
Upon leaving school at eighteen in 2020, and not knowing what to do with life, I finally decided to take up the organ at my local church, and fell completely in love with it. I managed to secure an organ scholarship at St Mary Magdalene, Richmond, which opened me up to the world of church music. Following two years in Richmond, I joined St Mary’s, Barnes, as Organ Scholar. However, upon arriving, I found myself to be the only member of the music team, suddenly finding myself in charge of a voluntary choir and responsible for all the organ playing. Whilst this was tough, it was a valuable experience that taught me a lot about leadership and teamwork.
After this, I held organ scholarships at HM Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace, and St Marylebone Parish Church, where I first worked with professional singers and children in a church setting.
In July 2026, I completed my Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal College of Music, London, winning the Harold Darke Prize for organ, having studied with professors David Graham, Charlie Andrews, Martin Ford, and Martin Schmeding. Whilst at the RCM, I was privileged to go on study trips across Europe, including to Leipzig, Hamburg, Paris, and the Netherlands, including playing five times at St Bavo’s, Haarlem.
Aside from Sinfonia Smith Square, this year I will be continuing my role as Organ Scholar at St Marylebone Parish Church, and will be working at St Michael’s Cornhill as Assistant Director of Music.
