Biography

LIGC are one of the largest community-based choirs in the capital, with an ever-expanding repertoire of uplifting gospel, pop and soul.

Embodying the energy and diversity of London, LIGC unites singers from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and musical experiences. Whether emerging voices or seasoned performers, all members are supported to develop their vocal artistry, musicality and stagecraft — resulting in performances that delight the ears and lift the heart.

Renowned for its distinctive blend of gospel, soul, funk, jazz and pop, the choir has graced stages across the UK and Europe, from charitable events and community festivals to stadium gigs and state occasions. LIGC has collaborated with celebrated artists including Take That, Hugh Jackman and Joss Stone, appearing at major venues such as the O2 Arena and the Royal Albert Hall, and in BBC television and radio broadcasts. In 2024, LIGC reached the finals of the international competition How Sweet the Sound, and in 2025 the ensemble toured Kenya, performing at an international gospel festival after the release of their debut EP.
