Biography

Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir (SSGC) is a London-based choir dedicated to creating contemporary gospel of the highest standard and sharing its uplifting power widely. Founded in 2005, SSGC’s mission is to spread faith, hope, and love through life-affirming, soulful performances, collaborating with artists, churches, charities, and communities.

The choir has performed across diverse settings—from intimate church services at St James’ Piccadilly and St Martin-in-the-Fields, to prison ministry, to large Christian festivals like Greenbelt and Big Church Day Out. SSGC’s work extends into studio recording, film, and TV, contributing to productions such as The Night Watchmen’s Nativity (Sky Arts), Rambert’s Note To Self, ITV’s Royal Christmas Concert, the M&S Christmas campaign, The Chelsea Detective, and the feature film Greatest Days.

Notable collaborations include backing Mica Paris at the Festival of Remembrance, featuring on her gospel album, and working with the London Symphony Orchestra on their groundbreaking album Shout For Joy, blending gospel and orchestral music in a unique way.
