FAQs

Whilst we recommend booking in advance, tickets will be available to buy from the Box Office before the start of a performance.

Online booking closes 1 hour before the advertised start of a performance.

The Box Office is open weekdays 10:00am to 5.00pm (or until the start of the performance on event days).

For weekend events the Box Office will open 90 minutes before the advertised start time of the performance (e.g. 6pm for a 7.30pm concert).

Please check in your spam and inbox for your e-tickets. They would have been sent from tickets@bookings.sinfoniasmithsq.org.uk
If you still have no luck finding them please contact the Box Office so that we can check your booking and resend your tickets.

Ticket returns may be accepted for exchange for another event (subject to availability), or credit to your Sinfonia Smith Square account, up to 48 hours before a performance. Credit is valid for one year from the date of issue. A £2.00 administration fee applies.

According to our Conditions of Sale, tickets cannot be refunded unless an event is cancelled.

As there is no cloakroom at Smith Square Hall we ask that you avoid bringing large or bulky luggage with you.

Our Thursday Lunchtime Series concerts last 1 hour with no interval. Other concerts generally last around 2 hours and usually include a 20 minute interval. When available, event running times can be found on the event listing page. Alternatively, please contact the box office on 020 7222 1061 for up-to-date information.

We understand that sometimes things don’t go to plan. We will admit any latecomers to the hall at the earliest opportunity, although you may not be able to access the seat that you reserved until a suitable break in the performance. If a concert is being recorded or filmed it may not be possible to admit latecomers. Please check our information on how to get to Smith Square to enable you to arrive in good time.

You are welcome to take drinks purchased from the Footstool Cafe & Bar into the Hall and Gallery. Please ask for one of our plastic glasses when ordering at the bar.

We ask that you do not take food into the Main Hall or Gallery, with the exception of ice cream or other snacks that are sold during the interval.

Food and drink that isn’t purchased in our cafe is not permitted in the Hall and Gallery.

The Box Office team will contact all ticket holders by email as soon as we are informed that an event has been postponed or cancelled. We reschedule performances whenever possible, in which case your tickets will remain valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend the new date, or if there is no confirmed new date, you can choose to receive a refund of the face value of your ticket(s) or convert the face value of your ticket(s) to credit on your Sinfonia Smith Square account. Please note that the booking fee is non-refundable as it covers the service provided by our Box Office when you made your booking.

Whilst we are happy for you to take pictures inside or outside our beautiful venue as a reminder of your visit, it is strictly not allowed to take photographs or film during a performance. Please ensure all mobile phones and electronic equipment are switched off during this time.

Owning a Grade 1 Listed concert hall comes with a lot of ongoing maintenance and restoration work. We want to give our customers a top rate experience when they visit Smith Square Hall and preserve our amazing building for future generations to enjoy. That’s why some of our tickets include a small restoration levy. This cost goes directly towards maintaining our beautiful concert hall, making sure we can complete essential works to keep it functional.

Any tickets that are returned to the Box Office will be released back on general sale. We suggest that you keep checking the website regularly to see if any tickets become available.

We do not operate a waiting list for performances that have sold out.

We do not have a dress code so please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Layers are a good idea as it can get warm in the Hall on busy concert days.

All tickets must be paid for at the time of booking. We do not take unpaid reservations.

We use ticket scanners for admission to our events. This means you can show your ticket on a phone or tablet, or bring a printed copy of your e-ticket/s with you. Please make sure the QR code is visible for our ushers to scan. However, if it’s easier for you, we are always happy to print out your tickets at the Box Office if you come and see us at the desk when you arrive.
