2025 Supporter Events

If you're a supporter of Sinfonia Smith Square or the Anghiari Festival, please join us for the range of supporter events we will be putting on in and around Anghiari across the 2025 Festival Week.

The Anghiari Festival is alive with music and good cheer. In addition to all of our concerts, we host an array of drinks receptions, intimate recitals, and events for our Anghiari and Sinfonia Smith Square supporters. Click through our list below to see what we have in store for 2025.

Please note, a 1:1 exchange rate is being used by Sinfonia Smith Square, so the cost of all ticketed events will be the same in EUR and GBP, with the difference covering the exchange rate transaction fees. Costs are displayed in GBP but please pay in whichever currency you prefer.

Friday 18 July - The Moveable Feast, Cafe Garibaldi, Anghiari, 5.00pm until late

A spectacular evening of revelry on the eve of the Anghiari Festival, generously organised and funded by Sinfonia Smith Square champions, David Wagner and John Maloney.

Begin the evening with a glass of Prosecco in Cafe Garibaldi where you meet our generous hosts and fellow guests. Then, travel to a stunning host home for a delicious starter and main accompanied by one of our Sinfonia Smith Square musicians. Finally, ascend to David and John’s home Le Trappole for dessert with a view, chamber music from Sinfonia Smith Square, and a spectacular finale.

To ease your passage from your host home to Le Trappole, for the first time this year we will be putting on a bus service from the centre of town to Le Trappole and back again. All you need to do is make your way from your host home back to the centre of Anghiari to be picked up and taken to the evenings final destination. Places on the bus are limited so book quickly to avoid disappointment. If you would prefer to drive or car share this can still also be arranged as normal, and clear driving instructions will be provided. Please note that all guests will still need to car share to get back to Piazza Baldaccio for the bus (or to head straight on to Le Trappole from their host home if preffered). Car sharing can be arranged nearer the time.

When RSVP’ing please confirm if you will have a car with you, and if you’re happy to drive others to your host homes and onto either the bus or to Le Trappole, and back.

5pm-5.45pm Drinks & nibbles at Café Garibaldi (located on Piazza Baldaccio, the main square in Anghiari)
5.45-6.15pm Travel on to host home
6.15-8.15pm Starter and main course enjoyed in host homes around Anghiari
8-8.15pm Travel on to Le Trappole (home of sponsors David Wagner and John Maloney)
8.15-10pm After party at Le Trappole featuring a private chamber concert by Southbank Sinfonia musicians

All proceeds from this event are kindly donated to Sinfonia Smith Square at the Anghiari Festival, bringing this fantastic part of our orchestral training programme to life.

Saturday 19 July - Welcome Drinks Reception, Garden Bar, Piazza del Popolo 5.30pm

The Anghiari Festival family reunites in the stunning setting of the Garden Bar overlooking the Tiber Valley: we invite you to join us in catching up with old friends and meeting new ones before our first chamber concert of the week in Piazza Mameli (6.15pm), whilst looking forward to the week ahead!

Monday 21 July - Recital at Villa Ercolano, 11.00am

£25 – Bus ticket from Piazza Baldaccio (essential)

For the first time this year, due to extensive works going on at Castello di Montauto, we will be hosting our beloved Monday recital at the stunning Villa Ercolano. Sitting on top of a hilltop just outside the walled town of Citta di Castello, Villa Ercolano offers stunning panoramic views of the Tiber Valley. Hand painted Ercolano frescos line the wisteria encased pergola near the swimming pool, luscious grapes grow overhead, and fragrant lavender surrounds and welcomes you to Villa Ercolano as you enter the entrance gates.

This stunning location will play host to a recital from Vox Musica and Sinfonia Smith Square musicians, led by Festival Director Simon Over. Spaces are limited and are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Villa Ercolano is a c.40 minute drive from the centre Anghiari. Parking is extremely limited and difficult, and therefore although the event is free to attend, booking onto the bus provided is essential. RSVP below.

Tuesday 22 July - Fundraising Lunch, Ristorante La Pieve Vecchia, Monterchi, 1.00pm

We are very grateful to our friends David Wagner and John Maloney for hosting a second event during the Anghiari Festival raising money for Sinfonia Smith Square and the Anghiari Festival.

A Fundraising Lunch that helps ensure that this spectacular festival keeps returning to Anghiari year after year, sponsored by our generous hosts David and John meaning 100% of your donation goes directly towards Sinfonia Smith Square at the Anghiari Festival. This year’s venue has a beautiful outdoor garden – fully shaded – ample parking and tremendous food! A Sinfonia chamber group will be joining us, along with Simon Over, Director of the Anghiari Festival, and Founder Director of Sinfonia Smith Square.

The minimum ticket cost is £75 per person, however please consider the following donation levels if you would like to attend. The proceeds from this lunch help make it possible for the Sinfonia to continue to play in Anghiari each July.

Gold Patron – £250 for two people / £125 individual (ticket £75 pp + donation)
Platinum Patron – £500 for two people / £250 individual (ticket £75 pp + donation)
Founding Sponsor – £1,000 for two people / £500 individual (ticket £75 pp + donation)

Additional guests can attend with you for the £75 per person minimum cost, though additional donations for their places are also very gratefully received.

Wednesday 23 July - Busatti Looms Tour, 10am

We are pleased to extend an invitation from the Sassolini family to see the famed Busatti fabric looms. Founded in 1842, we invite you to explore the inner workings that lie beneath this central Anghiari shop, continuing eight generations of family tradition in this fascinating and historic workshop that is still used to produce the fabrics available for purchase in a range of beautiful tableware, bedding, kitchenware and more.

Friday 25 July - Anghiari Music Festival Wine Tasting, 2-4pm

On behalf of Emma and Ben – our wine sponsors Bat & Bottle – we’re delighted to invite you to a gentle afternoon of music and wine tasting as we bring the Anghiari Festival to a close, featuring Italian wines discovered by Bat & Bottle from their time in Tuscany alongside wine’s from Davide del Gaia, who produces wines entirely in Anghari.
