Biography
My journey with music began in a social project in my city called “Guri” (which means little boy/girl), where I grew up surrounded by a vibrant cultural scene. I first picked up the saxophone, diving into jazz studies, and later discovered the oboe, which soon became my main voice. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a deep commitment, leading me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Oboe at São Paulo State University (UNESP).
During those years, I had the chance to work with some of Brazil’s leading orchestras, including the Ribeirão Preto Symphony Orchestra, GRU Symphony Orchestra, and the São Paulo State Youth Orchestra, which gave me an early taste of the professional music world and pushed me to take my craft further.
That drive eventually brought me to London, where I completed my Master’s degree in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Christopher Cowie and Patrick Flanaghan. While there, I performed with the Academy’s Symphony and Chamber Orchestras under conductors like Trevor Pinnock, Barbara Hannigan, and John Wilson. One special highlight was taking part in the premiere of Gilles Silvestrini’s Douze Études Poétiques in a private concert for the composer himself.
Some of my most exciting recent performances include my debut at Wigmore Hall with the Nash Ensemble and a sold-out concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall alongside the London Sinfonietta. In 2025, after so many challenges and steps taken, I was a finalist in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra auditions, earning a place on their extra list — a big milestone in my career.
Looking back, I’m grateful for the support I’ve received along the way, including the City Award – Young Talents of Music 2024, scholarships from the Leverhulme Trust and the Royal Academy of Music, and the Magda Tagliaferro Scholarships program.
When I’m not on stage or making reeds, I love travelling, exploring new cultures, and playing sports like football and table tennis. For me, music has always been more than a profession; it’s how I connect with people, tell stories, and hopefully leave a lasting mark.
